The Purpose Issue

Editor

Dear reader,

The team here at The Wall is excited to introduce you to our 12th edition of Ibstock’s well-loved magazine. We have striven to uproot the unique talent integrated within our school community and offer a fresh perspective. From intricate artwork to intriguing articles, this issue truly encompasses all.

In a rapidly evolving environment sculpted by technological advancement, news flashes and political unrest, we often fail to slow down and seek intention within ourselves. Therefore, we thought it only fitting for this year’s edition to probe the theme of ‘purpose’. We’ve decided to reinvent the magazine through a modernist lens to explore the question of how we can find purpose in an evolving society. While it’s important to embrace change, we should also step back and consider our origins. Hence, we have decided to delve into the roots of Ibstock by researching its archives.

The time and effort that has been fed into this magazine should not go unrecognised. Our art team has collated originally sourced artwork and photography from our student body. Likewise, our digital representative spent hours creating advertisements, including a recorded assembly to encourage article submissions. Overall, our team has never failed to go out of their way to make this magazine the best version it can be.

We hope you appreciate and acknowledge the tremendous amount of work that we have put into commissioning 2026’s edition, and that you enjoy and indulge in everything we have to offer.

- Serena Lynn, Editor-in-Chief
